What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I work by the hour. A simple job will not take more than an hour. If it looks like a bigger project, I will clearly state the time required for the project and we will move forward at your direction. I do not charge for travel time and if parts are needed I do not charge for the retrieval of parts.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My process is simple. You call me when you are having a technology issue and I will come out and fix it. If you feel more comfortable, I can also do contact-less repair of your computer.
-
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started doing small electronics repair, computer building, and computer programming at my fathers software company at a very young age in the 1980's. From 1996 to 2003 I worked as a software engineer for several well know internet startups. I "retired" as a software developer and pursued a career in music, earning a degree in Sound Engineering and working for 10 years as a sound engineer for multiple Grammy award winning recording artist's. I am thrilled to be able to use my training and experience in both computer engineering and sound engineering to help my clients with both home technology and home entertainment needs.
-
What types of customers have you worked with?
My customers have been small business, restaurants, and retail storefronts.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
A restaurant customer came to me with a completely broken network. Some computers were online, some not. Two printers did not work and the wireless for customers went in and out. I worked for 2 days fixing broken cat 5 cables, discovered a broken router and utilized a service contract with the printer company to get the printer fixed for free. I replaced the router and wireless with a mesh wireless system that allowed customers and employees to safety use the internet across the entire property.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I hear from my customers that I am not the cheapest option and I am am OK with that because I offer value. When looking to hire a professional, a lot of people just shop for the cheapest option. I can certainly understand that. But what are you getting when you just try to save a buck? Is the provider fully insured? I am. Is the provider going to personally test, guarantee and return if need be to repair the work? I do. Will they use inferior cable or cheap, unreliable parts that are prone to failure? Will they cut corners or leave a big mess for you to deal with? As a home owner and a small business owner, I make sure that all my work is something I can be proud of. You may not care about the type of cable, drip loops, or isolation capacitors and budget providers may not even know which to use when, but when it comes to your home do you want to take that risk?

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
To figure out the best questions to think through before talking to a professional you must keep in mind your ultimate goal. So many times we let preconceived limitations of what is possible stop us from getting the most from our technology. I hope to provide the service that allows you to get exactly what you want from your tech, even when you might have already been told "that" is not possible.
